Transforming lives through stability and care

Our impact

The Habilis model is already demonstrating significant social and economic benefits, helping residents and the wider community.

The Summer Hill pilot centre demonstrates

Improved Health Outcomes

Residents have access to regular medical support, resulting in far less hospital visits due to better adherence to treatment

Financial Sustainability

Through the use of cost efficient NDIS support and proven cost savings

Residents are regaining their independence while building meaningful relationships within a supportive environment

Stronger Community Integration

Long-Term Tenancy

Breaking the cycle of hospital stays, homelessness and incarceration, the majority of residents who have moved in to Habilis 1 remain with us

The Habilis value proposition

The City of Sydney estimates the sanitation cost of rough sleepers to be about $30,000 each p.a., almost enough to cover housing costs. With the average cost of a night in a general hospital bed around $2,000, a psychiatric hospital bed around $1,200, and a night in prison $300, we estimate our first six residents generated a staggering $1.4 million dollars of institutional care in the year prior to living at Habilis.

Once all Habilis 1 beds are occupied by similar residents, it will save the NSW Government over $4.5m every year.

Savings

$2.2M

$2.205,500 saved, calculated on 20 tenants at $110,377 p.a.

ROI
