Resident Stories - Kellie

From absolute rock-bottom with no way out to positively thriving in two short years, Kellie’s a wonderful Habilis success story.

Aged 53, Kellie was the only survivor of triplets at birth and lived with her parents all her life. Her first episode of mental illness took place only two years ago, and life quickly unraveled from there. Lacking the right mental health care, she assaulted her elderly father and was taken into custody. Without a home address for bail, she spent nearly six months in remand.

It was at this point that Habilis came into the picture, helping with the appropriate care and medication. Responding well to the medication, she was subsequently offered a permanent place at Habilis and granted bail.

With her court case now resolved and behind her, Kellie is very content in her own place. With the supervision and suppot Habilis provides, she has quickly become a self-sufficient and positive contributor to the Habilis Summer Hill community.
